Military/Deployment/Post Deployment

“It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.”
Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy

Time and time again, war has proven to have left its mark on the human soul. Fortunately and unfortunately, I have had the opportunity to work with varying populations of people who have served in hostile, unsafe environments, ravaged by war. Almost exclusively since 2006 I have worked with active duty military, veterans, and their families. Coming home from war is hard. There are seen and unseen wounds of war. These include:

  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Social Isolation

  • Physical injuries

These issues can be hard to discuss. Having the opportunity to discuss them with someone who is familiar with military culture, combat trauma and deployment can ease some of the discomfort.

For over 13 years, I have assisted people who have sustained catastrophic physical and mental injuries. I am committed to addressing the needs of people whose wounds and recovery persists past their service.
